QUEENSLAND YACHT CHARTERS
The
best boating holidays start right here with Queensland Yacht Charters.
As the Whitsundays largest owner-operated charter company, Adrian
and Suzette Pelt, owners of QYC will personally ensure that you
have a wonderfu sailing holiday, aboard one of our range of yachts
or powerboats.
All our charter yachts are fully equipped and professionally maintained
for trouble free and safe chartering. On your floating holiday home,
you'll quickly be able to leave your everyday life behind and sail
away to explore and relax among 74 perfect tropical islands lying
in a brilliant blue and turquoise sea with secluded anchorages,
magnificent coral reefs and lushly forested islands. There are also
seven island resorts where you can be sure of a warm welcome. And
the best is that your QYC yacht or power boat can take you places
others can only dream about. Relax, swim, snorkel or read. Do whatever
you want, when you want. It’s YOUR holiday.
GETTING
THERE
WHITSUNDAY
COAST AIRPORT (PROSERPINE)
If arriving by air into Whitsunday Coast Airport we recommend the
two quickest services, about 30 minutes:
Shuttle Bus: $13.50 per person
each way for up to 4 passengers, $55.00 total for 5 - 10 passengers
(each way)
Corporate Car-Limo: $65 will
take 4 people in air-conditioned comfort
Please book these in advance with Holiday Magic. Your shuttle or
limo driver will meet you at the airport.
Hamilton Island
We can deliver your vessel to Hamilton Island for a vessel relocation
fee - start Hamilton Island $185, finish Hamilton $120 or both $305.
If you are meeting your boat at Hamilton Island, once you've collected
your luggage, simply telephone for a taxi if one isn't already in
the area and head to the Marina office. Your QYC representative
will meet you there and assist with your luggage to the boat.
Driving
Turn off for the Whitsundays at Proserpine. We are 150km north of
Mackay and 300km south of Townsville. Or about 6-7 hours drive south
of Cairns and 12 hours drive north of Brisbane! Parking is available
in the marina although there is no security and it may be full in
holiday times. For those requiring lock up storage, we recommend
the Car Security at $13.50 per day for full undercover security.
Train
All major train services, including the fabulous Tilt Train, stop
in Proserpine. Taxis will meet the train by arrangement.
Prices are very subject to change so should

THE
WHITSUNDAYS
Lying
in the tropics, close to 20º South and cooled by the trade winds
for most of the year, the Whitsundays have an excellent climate.
The waters are protected by the Coral Sea and Great Barrier Reef
and most islands are surrounded by a fringing reef system. Seasons
tend to be dictated by school holidays rather than weather, so some
of the best sailing can be found in the off-peak periods. Summers
are warm with frequent rain showers and winters are said by many
to be the perfect climate - warm by day and cool by night. The trade
winds usually blow slightly stronger from May to August. July is
the coolest time, January the warmest. And cyclones, if they do
occur, are most likely between February and March. Good anchorages
are plentiful and varied.
