 Great
Keppel Island is a 3.5 star property situated off the Central Queensland
Coast Australia, 15 kilometres across Keppel Bay from the town of
Yeppoon; 55 kilometres from Rockhampton, the closest major city.
The Island is 43 kilometres in circumference, about 1400 hectares,
and has 17 outstanding white sandy beaches, all safe for swimming;
several with good coral and heaps of colourful fish just right for
snorkelling. Ninety percent of the Island is bushland, with all
businesses situated along Fisherman's Beach.
Great Keppel is the largest island of the Keppel Group, which consists
of 14 islands offering excellent marine life and great spots for
snorkelling and diving. Because of the central location of the Island,
we enjoy a warm, sunny climate year-round.
The birdlife on the Island is varied from White-breasted Sea Eagles,
Brahminy Kites, Ospreys to Pied Oystercatchers and Beach Curlews,
to the Honeyeaters, Rainbow Bee-eaters, Pheasant Coucals, Friarbirds,
and of, course, the lovely and very noisy Kookaburras and Rainbow
Lorikeets! Brushtail Possums are quite numerous and the occasional
Blue-tongue lizards and Goannas.
The resort itself offers great facilities including a pool, a small
shop, numerous accommodation types and various restaurants. Great
Keppel Island Resort is the major place to stay on the island.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Guest's luggage is restricted to one piece of checked luggage not
exceeding 20kgs. Soft bags preferable. Groups that exceed the combined
luggage allowance mat attract an additional cost to fly the luggage
to the island in a separate aircraft.
Passengers will be met at the Rockhampton Airport and taken by courtesy
vehicle to the Air Capricorn departure point.
Flight time is approximately 20 minutes.
Schedule may be affected by adverse weather conditions.

friendly and reliable, the Freedom Fast cats provide 3 ferry transfers
daily for the short 30 minute journey to Great Keppel Island.

On Fridays there is also a 6.30pm departure from Keppel
Bay Marina

We recommend guests depart Great Keppel Island on the
