ITINERARY
Day 1
After arriving at Silky Oaks Lodge from Cairns in a chauffer-driven car, you can settle into your private Treehouse. Later spend the rest of the day exploring the ancient rainforest surrounding the Lodge.
In the evening, a delicious dinner in the Treehouse Restaurant, created by the chef using the freshest local ingredients, completes your introduction to a truly unique holiday.
Day 2
Following breakfast, you are taken to Port Douglas to board the Quisksmart, a luxury 24 metre catamaran designed especially for water-based adventure activities. For the next five hours, you have the opportunity to snorkel round the Agincourt reef right which sits on the edge of The Great Barrier Reef and marvel at the vibrantly coloured marine creatures. Certified divers can enjoy up to three dives and introductory divers can choose to do a second dive (at an additional cost). A smorgasbord lunch, morning and afternoon tea are provided.
Return to Silky Oaks Lodge in the cool of the late afternoon, there is time to watch the sun setting or to sip a cocktail, before enjoying a candle-lit dinner.
Day 3
After a tropical breakfast, take part in a day trip with an Australian Natural History Safari, a not-to-be-missed experience. This is a full day excursion for a maximum of just four people. A qualified naturalist guide will lead you into an exotic world of rainforest birds and mammals and private lowland rainforests. In keeping with nature, lunch is taken alongside a fresh mountain stream. The tour continues with a trip further west to see the Eucalypt Woodlands. Morning and afternoon tea are also provided, along with relevant reference books and binoculars.
Back at Silky Oaks Lodge, enjoy dinner in the open-air restaurant where tall trees replace widows or walls.
Day 4
An early start - but it's definitely worth the effort! A hot air balloon flight over the Atherton Tablelands, watching the sun rise over the extraordinary Australian outback landscape, is the sort of experience that will stay with you for many years. After touch down and safely back on the ground, you are rewarded with a full buffet breakfast and complimentary Australian sparkling wine.
You are returned to the Lodge and will find there is plenty of time left in the day for other activities, whether it be a soothing treatment at the Healing Waters Spa or a dip in the swimming pool.
It is your last evening at Silky Oaks Lodge, definitely a time to indulge! Silky's brilliant adventurous chef loves to source the best quality local produce each day, so you are assured of a great choice of dishes.
Day 5
A tropical breakfast is a fitting finale to your visit to Silky Oaks Lodge. Fortunately there will be enough time for a quick swim or a stroll through the rainforest before your private chauffeured car arrives to transfer you to Cairns where you can continue your travel arrangements home.
